Beer is a rich source of B vitamins originating from the malt and from the brewer’s yeast. The wealth of B vitamins depends on a number of factors such as the ingredients used and the actual brewing method. This accounts for the fact that the amount of B vitamins in beer varies considerably according to the particular type of beer. The quantity for vitamin B12 (cobalamine), expressed in µg/litre beer, is between 90 and 140, which corresponds with about half the daily requirement of B12 from consumption of one litre. The following concentrations have been observed for the other B vitamins:
